The prestigious scholarship I was awarded by CAFBA was truly serendipitous. My dream of owning my own Commercial Asset finance business was laced with many interesting challenges, I was new to the intricacies of the finance broking industry, inexperienced as a director and people leader accompanied with the many teething difficulties any small business owner faces in Australia. This Accelerated Leadership Performance Program with Woman in Leadership Australia scholarship handed me an instant support group with a group of exceptional women from diverse industries all with their own unique provocations and skills.
This has proven to be one of the most outstanding and thought provoking leadership programs I have ever taken part in. The content was incomparable, the facilitators and lecturers were world class and the course outline and modules included was holistic and invigorating.
I would highly recommend this program to women in any industry and especially the finance industry, a predominantly male industry which still has vast inroads to make towards gender equality. The tools this program equipped us with is uniquely tailored for women by women to maximise our impact. As a proud feminist, I love to see all things equal, but embrace the fact that we all have core differences in the way we make decisions and are perceived as leaders.
The concentrated focus I perceive from industry bodies such as CAFBA to bridge the gender gap in the Finance Broking world is simply remarkable, I feel grateful, humbled and incredibly gratified that I had this opportunity to be part of this journey.
