The unfortunate reality for many people today is that they are only a few pay checks away from homelessness. Contrary to what we tend to think, only 26% of homelessness in Australia is actually related to drug and alcohol abuse. Unemployment, unexpected illness or family separation can quickly drive people into homelessness, and many factors make it hard or near impossible for families and individuals to get back into a stable home.
For those doing it tough, who may be sleeping in a car or on a park bench, winter is a frightening time of freezing nights and little warmth. Thousands of Australians are sleeping on the street, on park benches and under bridges every single night, and what is worse is thousands of families with children are part of this shocking statistic. We need to do more as Australians to fight these growing numbers. Please support my cause by donating on the link below, every single dollar donated helps
