Blog & Press

Nov 19, 2018

I am rather speechless as I sit here this evening reflecting on one of the most exhilarating days in my career when I was bestowed the absolute honour of becoming a director on the board for CAFBA just a few weeks ago.

If you follow my blogs you would know that I was awarded a CAFBA scholarship in 2017 for the Accelerated Leadership program with Woman in Leadership Australia.  This wonderful scholarship and opportunity recognises existing skills, with a focus on encouraging leadership growth in females within the finance industry.  This unquestionably impacted and shaped me into a stronger and better leader, the course was first class, and receiving a scholarship as a newcomer to the industry empowered and encouraged me greatly.

When I started my business I really invested quite a bit of time to decide which aggregator and industry body to join.  From previous business ventures, I valued the great importance of laying the right foundation to build and scale my business on.  Knowing that my core target market would be in Commercial Asset finance, it is quite obvious why I was delighted when I found CAFBA.  I knew immediately that this was where Loanezi belonged and I have been an absolutely advocate ever since.

I personally feel an amazing sense of community within this industry, but it can also be a lonely industry with small teams or one man bands making up a large majority of Brokerage businesses. Feeling supported and connected is of utmost importance as we shape our businesses and make big decisions that impact us and our clients.

I am incredibly proud to be part of the finance industry, because we really do make a difference to Australian businesses and even economic growth as a whole. We are sometimes the makers or breakers of not only start-ups but also established businesses, and can mean success or failure to our clients.  This is a great power, a great responsibility and also a great privilege.

On that note, I want to encourage new and old members of the finance broking industry to stay connected, get connected and support industry networking events at every opportunity.  The more members we have, the more we can actually impact change on the industry, support our clients and help drive entrepreneurship and opportunity in Australia.

We have the CAFBA End of Year Cocktail Functions happening in Brisbane this week Thursday the 22nd and in Sydney the following week on Thursday the 29th, please check out our events page for more details:  http://www.cafba.com.au/upcoming-events/ and myself or the other Board members would love to welcome you there.
