As a Technology specialist it is really invigorating when you can have a unexpected value added conversation with your client.

With summer comes the threat of heavy rain storms, flooding and gale force winds that can wreak havoc on our homes and businesses. We just never know what Mother Nature has in store for us. This is an ideal opportunity to approach clients to assist them to prepare in advance for disasters and insure their technology is configured correctly to keep their business running in the event of a power outage or weather related conditions that may keep their employees from making it into the office.

If your clients don’t have a Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery Plan in place for their communications you can assist them to establish a plan that works for their organization and allows them to keep their business in operation when Mother Nature strikes.

A Disaster recovery plan helps a business to prepare for a major business disruption. It puts processes and plans in place to respond to these events. It enables you to reduce the impact on your critical business functions.

Having a plan in place can help your business mitigate risk when it is the most vulnerable.

There are many good free templates available online to choose from and just take note as these may vary from state to state.  Why don’t you review and save the best one, and use it as a standard document that you can provide to your customer as part of their ICT planning.  Having this conversation will highlight the business critical nature of all the ICT within the business, and will certainly help you as the expert to build more obvious value into the solutions you are proposing.
